On February 12, 2024 Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) revealed the details of the draw conducted on February 6, 2024, where 44 aspiring immigrants were given the invite under the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway with a job offer letter where the minimum CRS score would be 302 to be eligible.

What are the basic eligibility criteria for Alberta Express Entry – Dedicated Healthcare Pathway?

The eligibility criteria for the Alberta Express Entry Stream, specifically for the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) category-based selections in 2023, include the following:

  • Candidates must have a primary occupation listed in an eligible National Occupational Classification (NOC) code.
  • Candidates must possess a valid and verifiable job offer from an Alberta employer in the health sector.  The job offer must be in an eligible healthcare profession.
  • Candidates need to provide verifiable proof of meeting the minimal requirements prescribed by the applicable regulatory organization.

Which occupations are eligible for the Alberta PNP healthcare stream?

Eligible healthcare professions under this pathway, and the relevant regulatory entity accountable for verification of ability to practice in Alberta, include:

  • Physicians – College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)

  • Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) – College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Nurse Practitioners (NPs) – College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Physician Assistants – College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
  • Occupational Therapist – Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
