Who is eligible for Ontario PNP?

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is one of the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) in Canada. It allows the province of Ontario to nominate individuals for permanent residence based on their skills, work experience, and ability to contribute to the local economy.

Eligibility for the Ontario PNPdepends on the specific streams and categories within the program. As of my last update, here are some common streams under the OINP:

1) Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream:
To be eligible for the Ontario PNP Human Capital stream, you must meet the following requirements.

a) You must have an active federal Express Entry account
.
b) You must have a minimum 67/100 points and a 400 and above CRS score.

c) IELTS minimum
 6 bands in each module will be required; however, higher scores will get priority. 
d) Ontario gives priority to health care, Tech profile and financial NOC code, so if your NOC code belongs to said NOC, then you may get priority.

2) Ontario Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream:
To be eligible for Ontario French-speaking Express Entry, candidates must meet the following requirements

a) must have CLB7 in the French language proficiency exam (TEF)
b)You must have a valid Express Entry profile number
c) Must have a minimum score of 67/100 FSW points.


3) Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream:
This stream is designed for those trade occupations who are already working in Ontario. To become eligible under the Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream, you must satisfy the below requirements.

a) At least one year of cumulative paid full-time work experience (or the equivalent in paid part-time work) in Ontario Major Groups 72 (excluding occupations under transportation officers), 73, 82, 83, 93 (excluding aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors) or Minor Group 6320 (excluding cooks) of the National Occupational Classification (NOC)
b) You must obtained your experience in the last 2 years from the date of submission.
c) You must be able to understand, read, write and speak either English or French at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5 or higher.



4) Employer Job Offer Category:
This stream is designed For individuals who received a job offer from an Ontario employer. Please find the requirements of the Employer job offer category below.

 

a) You must have a job offer letter from Ontario Employer for at least 1 year.
b) The offer
 letter must be in a skilled occupation at TEER category 0, 1, 2 or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
c) 
The pay of the job offered must meet or be higher than the median wage level.

The Ontario PNP fee varies from stream to stream under you are applying for Ontario PNP nomination. However, please find below Ontario PNP fee as per their stream.

The province of Ontario charges the fees to recover the cost of administering the OINP. Therefore, the Ontario PNP fee is not refundable if your application is unsuccessful or you decide to withdraw your application.

How to apply for Ontario PNP?

The Ontario PNP program has made immigrating to Ontario much more accessible and convenient for foreign skilled and experienced candidates. The liberal policies, the relaxed eligibility criteria, the smooth screening process and the fast processing time make Ontario the best destination for immigrants and leave a long-lasting impression in the minds of immigrants.

To apply for Ontario PNP, you need to follow the below process steps.


1. Check your Eligibility:
Suppose you want to apply for Ontario PNP. In that case, the first and foremost requirement is to check whether you meet predefined criteria regarding Profile, Age, points score, language proficiency requirements, etc. If you are sure about now, start further steps.

2. Create an Express Entry Profile:
The second step is to create an Express Entry profile in the Express Entry Pool authorized by IRCC, reflecting that you’re interested in migrating to Ontario.


3. Apply to be nominated by the Ontario government:
In the third step, you must receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from the province of Ontario through the IRCC online account that you’ve created before. As soon as you receive the NOI from Ontario, you can easily apply for Ontario PNP. An NOI does not guarantee that your application will be approved. You need to prove your claims.


4. Pay the Ontario PNP fee & submit your Documents :
After you’ve been issued an NOI from the province of Ontario through your online IRCC account, you have a 45-day period to submit your documents. You must pay the Ontario PNP fees, i.e.  $1,500 or $2,000 depending upon the selected stream or  $3,500 if you have chosen the business stream.

Once you’ve submitted your application successfully without any folly, the Ontario office will assess your application against the Ontario PNP law in two parts.

a) In the first screening, Ontario will check whether your submitted application is complete or not; if your application is incomplete or incorrect, the Ontario office will return your file, and the Ontario PNP fee will not be refundable. 


b)If you passed the first phase, your application needs to go through a quality check & credentials verification. If the Ontario PNP officer finds any ground to believe that your claims are inaccurate, your application will be refused, and you will be banned from re-applying for the next five years.

If you assessed positive, you would get the Ontario nomination approved; now, you can claim an additional CRS 600 score.

5. 
Apply to the CIC  for permanent residence:
You must apply for permanent residence through the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada).

Follow Some of the Tips to Ensure Your Application for Ontario PNP is Processed successfully as Fast as it Can Be

1) Always Fill Your Application Correctly:
You must fill out the application form correctly so there is no discrepancy afterwards. Please don’t rely on the concerned authorities to correct your mistake. Once they find your application incomplete, they will return it to you. So, it’s always advisable to fill out the form correctly. Honestly, it pays out.


2) Have a Hold of all your Pertinent Documents:
Sending the proper set of documents to the concerned authorities should always be your main priority. If you’re stuck in any problem, there is no need to panic as you can send the letter and other documents. That is why you were not able to provide the form.

3) Choose Your Ontario PNP Stream Wisely
Before choosing any stream, it’s always advisable to ensure that you have enough CRS scores to apply in the Ontario PNP skilled workers category. On the other hand, if you’re applying under the sponsorship category, ensure you’ve enough proof that the relationship you share is genuine.

Ontario PNP Draw

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) draw is a regular selection process where the Ontario PNP chooses eligible candidates from the Express Entry pool to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residency in Ontario, Canada. In an Ontario PNP draw, candidates who have submitted an Express Entry and have met the eligibility criteria for one of Ontario's immigration streams, including the Human Capital Priorities Stream, the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, may receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination.

The Ontario PNP draw typically takes place once every month, and the number of invitations and the minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score may vary based on Ontario's labour market needs and other factors. The candidates who receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) to apply have 45 days to submit a complete application for provincial nomination.
